Introduction
At Active Regen we think its important that when you book a course with us you know something about the people who'll be training you. If nothing else it helps to know what the coach looks like when you arrive.
We want you to have the best coaches and coaching possible and so we encourage our coaches to keep training and gaining qualifications so that we'll have the strongest team and set the highest standards.

Myles Thompson

Qualifications
- BA Honours in Sports Management - University of Central Lancashire.
- Variety of NGB level 1 coaching certificates.
- Football level 2 certificate
Experience
I previously worked as a volunteer support coordinator for Preston Sports Development delivering an urban regeneration project in partnership with Preston College and the University of Central Lancashire. The role was to create an infrastructure of qualified and accredited sports coaches who would improve service delivery and increase the number of participants across the city.
Job Title - Sports Development Manager - which means:
I oversee all the sports related projects and manage the coaching team. I work closely with the company director and the community inclusion manager to identify gaps in the market place and help identify funding streams to continue our projects. My main aim is to ensure we meet the needs of local young people and provide sport and physical activity in the communities in which we work. I am also a member of the Rotherham Active Partnership (RAP) and Rotherham Active Network (RAN) which are the strategic groups for sport in the borough.

I'm 100% committed to making a positive difference and know that the more skills and experience I gain the more effect I can have.
With Active Regen's support I am studying for a post graduate certificate in education (PGCE) and to be an NVQ assessor. I have represented England International Futsal Team and currently hold 3 caps.
Tom Wylde
Qualifications
- Degree in Physical Activity, Exercise and Health - Leeds Metropolitan University
- NGB level 1 coaching certificates in cricket and football
Experience
I previously worked in America for UK International Soccer Camps. This involved traveling to various places on the west coast, including California, Arizona, Texas and Nevada. My role involved delivering week long soccer camps to children aged 5- 16 years. It was both a rewarding and enjoyable experience which developed me as a person and as a coach.
Job Title - Community Sports Coach - which means:
I work mainly in the Thurcroft and Aston areas of Rotherham providing curriculum based sports coaching. I also provide coaching during lunch-times and for after-school clubs as part of the extended schools programme

I get a real buzz from seeing children and young people getting into sport and developing their skills.
I'm currently working on gaining more coaching badges so I can be involved in more Active Regen coaching courses.
Michael Panther

Qualifications
- BA Honours in Sport and Exercise Science - Hull University (Doncaster College and High Melton Campus)
- HND in Sport and Exercise - Dearne Valley College
- B- Tec National - Dearne Valley College
- Sports qualifications in Football, Athletics, Cricket
- YMCA Level 1
- CSLA Level 2
Experience
I'm currently studying for my Level 2 certificates in Sport, Recreation and Allied Occupations Industry and Organisational Awareness.
Job Title - Community Sports Coach - which means:
I work mainly in the Brinsworth and Aston areas of Rotherham providing sports coaching in primary schools and communities at sporting venues throughout the borough.

Andrew Williams

Qualifications
- Double distinction BTEC national certificate in sports.
- Currently studying for NVQ Level 2 in Activity Leadership
Experience
I started my career with some voluntary work at Hilltop special needs school. I was then accepted onto my apprenticeship here at Active Regen and now I work closely alongside Ryan Wallace on the Going For Gold project and hope to further my knowledge and experience to become a full time coach.
Job Title - Apprentice Community Multi Sports Coach - which means:
This involves me assisting Ryan Wallace with the delivery of the Going For Gold project in schools and also going into the community to provide multi sports.

I really enjoy working at Active Regen as I love delivering sports and I enjoy seeing how children develop their skills from a projects start to finish. I hope to continue so I can develop myself to become a better coach.
Marie Croker

Job Title - Community Development Manager - which means:
To lead on the company's Community Strategy and to support a programme of community involvement through the development of the Community Consortium. Development of a network of community partners both locally, regionally and Nationally to help support the company, and to work in partnership with the Sports Development manager to manage the monitoring and evaluation processes within the organisation. Lead on the marketing and on the production of the company's marketing and PR and also identify and support opportunities for volunteering within Active Regen. Managing the Community team which consists of the Community Development officer and Administrator to support their roles within Active Regen and I am responsible to the director.

Before joining Active Regen, I worked for many years within Local Authority in the Sports and Recreation field, starting as a coach, while my three children were still young, then progressing to development officer and finally for the last six years as an Area manager, line managing a team of Development officers and delivery workers. I have worked on various projects over the years which include: BHF project working with heart patients to access physical activity after they leave hospital, working closely with Senior Cardiac nurses and consultants, Street Sports Project, Health Action Zone (HAZ) Project, Active Communities Project- to mention a few. The purpose of the Area Manager role was to cover two community assembly areas working closely with local partners to meet the diverse needs of the community. Taking a lead role in supporting an co coordinating provision within areas by providers- particularly voluntary and community groups, and to develop and implement service plans and work programmes to meet the Service's priorities. The role involved having a strategic overview of sport, physical activity and training for children, young people and older people, and taking responsibility of citywide projects related to local community plans. To support local partners to access funding opportunities and to lead and develop partnership management groups to ensure a coordinated approach was achieved within local communities.

Job Title - Office Administrator
Which Means:
I am an office based administrator and here to support all the team. I assist with the day to day running of the company with everything from updating the blog (see www.activeregenchat.co.uk) to looking after the accounts to ordering the stationery!
More about Sue
I really enjoy working for Active Regen and being into fitness and exercise myself I greatly respect the values and policies of the company. I feel that everyone should try to incorporate exercise into their everyday lives and getting children interested from an early age is important.
